What is my news story
Me and my group decided to report on the Justin Bieber baby fiasco. We chose this story because well .... we couldn't just NOT report on the story. It's a popular story, and with any luck it will ruin justin's career, and isn;t that all that's important?
The News
I do not keep up with the news because almost all of my friends are more informed than I am. Also I hang out in school where these world issues are being talked about a lot, I don't keep up with the news because everybody else is keeping me informed.
What should be censored
I don't believe in censorship. The is a point where it becomes nescessary, but something as simple as bad language should not be censored on TV. If the language is offensive to somebody's ears, they can change what they listen to. If a movie is too violent, don't watch the movie. It's really that simple. Of corse if this sort of stuff exists then people should have a sort of safe zone for their media as well. Violence sex and swearing should not be censored, but there should also be easy access to parts of the media where those things don't happen
Answer one of these questions
Technology has changed my ability to study in school for the better, I am able to use the internet to do research at the click of a button. I can watch youtube whenever I want. And I'm able to use a computer in order to type an assignment much faster than normal as opposed to writing things out long hand.
However, this new technology also means that more is expected of me and I'm not sure if it is fair to me. Since I am able to do research faster and do work faster, society expects more out of me than my parents. I'm expected to be a genuis who jumps through leaps and bounds to get a job, while my dad was able to make a living wage straight out of highschool.

One potentially dangerous media product.
If I had to choose one media product that may potentially cause violence, I would have to pick COD. COD is all about being competitive. It makes people mad, frustrates people, makes guys talk about their favorite guns and blowing stuff up. I don't think video games cause violence, but if I had to pick one it would be COD
BFC and Violence
Violence happens because people don't get along, it's simple as that. A lot of this happens because of how the social system in our schools work. In addition to being educated and CONTROLLED by the government, our school's are also a popularity contest. I think it's this popularity contest that is causing REAL violence.
Mining Celebrities
I have learned that plenty of people are willing to sell their sould for fame and fortue, including myself.
Columbine
I will always remember how easy it was for Mike Myers to obtain a firearm in the United States. All he had to do was open up a bank account, and he was given a firearm. This to me looks stupid.
iPhone 4S
the product looks great, but it's not worth my money to pay more than 100$ for it. Ultimately there is nothing the new iPhone can do that my PC and cellphone can't already do. If one does not own an iphone or any kind of cellphone, the iphone 4S may be worth your time. But if one has a laptop and a cheaper cellphone, the iPhone 4S is really not worth the money.
The Death of Steve Jobs
I have owned many an iPod. And many an ipod has either been broken, destroyed, or stolen. I don't see the reason to buy a mac, whatever a mac can do a PC can do as well. but I think I could perhaps buy the iPhone, or even another Ipod in the near future. I refuse to buy an Ipad until apple improves the technology. RIP Steve Jobs. Your products are expensive and break all the time, but we love you anyways.
Spoof Commercial
For our commercial our group is doing a spoof on defence lawyers. It will be a success because I am working with Jimmy Skinner
mean girl
I don't think that girls are as mean to eachother as they appear to be on TV. To say that girls don't act that way at all is false, but I don't seriously think girls are THAT nasty to eachother.Girls fight, yell, bitch, spread rumours, sass, steal boyfriends, but they don't seem to start a fight at the drop of a hat either. Maybe TV shows influence girls a LITTLE, but I'm sure there's other things causing it besides TV too.
Seahaven
This is not the way life should be like. If you never have any conflict you never have any reason to live. You can't expect your world to be perfect, it's just not practical.
Jumping The shark
My favorite example of jumping the shark was when Steven Tyler became a judge on american Idol. When I learned about him doing it a small part of my sould died, and I think it will ultimately kill his career.

#6 Charlie Sheen
Although his actions are ultimately wrong, I think Charlie Sheen is just doing what anybody else might do if they were given the same opportunity. He has a lead role on a popular sit-com, he has Tiger blood and he's a warlock. I don't think I would abuse my power to the level that Charlie Sheen is doing if I had the same chance, but the horrible things that Charlie Sheen does are not unheard of and I'm sure the media makes him seem worse than he actually is in real life.
#5
I myself watched the season opener of two and a half men with ashton. I think the idea has potential but at the same time a very small part of my soul knows full well that Charlie Sheen has done enough drugs to kill two and a half men.

The social network
I totally agree with the approval rating this movie has recieved. Mark Zuckerburg did not like the way he was portrayed in the movie, but the movie tells us a lot about the social network we use on a regular basis. We learn that facebook also exists for money, and we learn how Mark Zuckerburg was able to call all the shots on facebook. I enjoyed the movie!
All media exists to make money
Yes this is true, I do not consider this to be evil by any means. Nobody does anything unless they recieve something they want in return. I also think it's important to remember that being rich is not a crime
Facebook is ...
Facebook is a social network millions of people use to keep tabs on people they know
Media is ...
Media is a force of modern society that exists to make money. They make money with advertisements, and they bring people to these advertisements by giving them things that they want in return such as movies clothes television music etc

Facebook is ...
Crackbook is also a good thing. Although alot of people use it for bad things there are plenty of people who use it for good. It's a great way to spread news and chit chat, so long as the chat system works.
Media is ...
Media is a good thing, it keeps us informed about what's going on in the world and it keeps us thinking. The media also gives us power to portray things that are either good or bad. (However is pleases the people)

#31 Festive contribution?
Well I guess it's a little late for me to be working on holiday blogs after the holidays, but my plan was to sign up as minister of spirit. That way I would have a better chance to make the whole school more festive and fun all year round. Even something simple putting christmas decorations around the school.
Challenge Day
If you really knew me you would know that I happen to be one of the millions of people that get on a regular basis. The bullying was so bad in grade 7 that I now suffer from post traumatic stress disorder because of it. The bullying has more or less stopped now that I'm in grade 12, but it wasn't any expensive MTV program that made it so. I don't get bullied anymore because I've had to fight for my respect. People were unwilling to simply give me fair treatment so I spent a couple years fighting people who got in my way, and not the kind of fight you have with parents either. I'm talking about the kind of fight where people actually get hurt, I tried every solution that the bullying programs in school said I should try. None of them worked, so against my mommas best wishes I punched people, I hurt everyone who bothered me. So only because of THAT, only because I happen to be good at hurting people, only because I made it happen, only because everyone else discovered I wasn't as stupid as they thought, was I able to stop being bullied. It wasn't a fancy MTV program, it was me who solved the problem. So I guess that sums up what I think about challenge day.
#24 Crazy Couple?
I wouldn't say that giving $11 million isn't really CRAZY. I'm not the charitable kind of person and I will admit to being sort of greedy. I wouldn't of given all that money to charity, if I had $11 million I would of gone straight to wal-mart.
#23 The last lecture
I think I already posted an answer on this? Life is short, so live it up while you can.
#22 Belonging
To be honest, there isn't really any group that I feel comfortable around. I don't like people, my family situation is different from most people's and I'm not into sports. Call me anti-social but the only group of people I ENJOY being around are my close friends and maybe Mr. MacKintosh's drama class. In drama class Big MacK had us all share something personal about ourselves wth the rest of the class. Not a deep dark secret or anything, just something you wouldn't present to your other classes. Since we all shared something about ourselves it kinda made me feel closer to my classmates.
#21 Zebras
The easiest thing to understand about the zebra is simply that there is safety in numbers. The story gives us the idea that things will be better if we band together and make it more dfficult for lions to spot us.
